Lent
Daily prayer should already be an integral part in our lives as we express gratitude to God for the abundant blessings, we receive from Him each and every day. During Great Lent, the Church provides many opportunities to deepen our prayer lives in addition to participating in Sunday Mass. These opportunities include the Stations of the Cross, Bitter Lamentations / Gorzkie Zale, a Lenten Retreat and a Meal in the Upper Room. It is prudent to take advantage of these additional services. (Catherine Andersen)
We can use the opportunities we are given this Lent to seek out Jesus and to listen to Him. Besides at Holy Mass, we can seek Him out in the Blessed Sacrament. We can go visit him there anytime. Even better, go to Stations of the Cross or the Bitter Lamentations. Many parishes follow these beautiful services with Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. When the priest places Our Lord in the monstrance, we physically see Him, too! And how wonderful it is to be in His presence, to speak to Him, and receive His blessing be sides. May you have a very blessed, disciplined and focused Lent as you grow closer to Jesus and bring others to Him. Lord for us, your wounds were suffered. O Christ Jesus, have mercy on us.( The Savonarola Theological Seminary Newsletter)
